Intro of Fredfi to the Audio Cicle
« on: 12 Aug 2021, 03:15 pm »
 Hello all!
This is Fredfi and I am new to the circle but have been a frequent visitor.
I am a audio guy since the early 70’s.
A longtime Maggie fan (currently .7) and am interested in Spatial Audio.
Other equipment: Arcam FMJ A19 integrated, VPI Traveler w/AT cartridge, Marantz 6006 CD Player, Sony XDR F1HD Tuner,
Various cables.
Looking forward to hearing and conversing with everyone!

Welcome! I'm a Maggie fan as well, also with .7s, though I started with MG-1s in 1978. Other common makes between us: VPI (Scout with an Ortofon 2M Bronze) and Marantz (SACD 30n).

Hi Fred,
What are your impressions on the Sony XDR F1HD Tuner ?

My impression is it is a great tuner!
Some minor quibbles are it gets hot easily (fixed by raising it on corks Drambuie works best HaHa)!
Also it is so small and light cables can be a bit hard to connect without the tuner moving around.

Overall good sound and reception!
