X-Bravo’s on GR Research Site?
« on: 6 Jul 2021, 08:35 pm »
Hi all!

I lost out on a beautiful pair of Moho x-ls encore bookshelves on eBay earlier today that I was going to redo with Danny’s upgraded crossovers. So I perused GR’s site and see some assembled flat packs for an x-Bravo speaker. It appears to be a bigger version of the X-LS bookshelves. I dug around the circle for more info but can’t find anything.

Any details on these speakers?  Do they use the same crossover as the encores?  What are the differences in these speakers and x-ls encores?

Anyone in the circle that could veneer these in AV123 Rosewood or the Moho?

Thanks!
Robert

They’re actually a smaller version of the X-LS that use the 5” M-130 drivers as opposed to the 6” M-160. Danny has a video about them up on his YouTube channel. They are a little smaller with pretty much equivalent performance.

Thanks!  That’s helpful. I went and watched this video. I will probably stick with the normal x-ls encores.

Anyone in the circle that could do a rosewood or Moho veneer?

What's the zip code where you are located? That's half the battle.  I'd be willing to build you some veneered cabinets, but shipping heavy speaker boxes is the part and the added expense that I'm never excited about. If you are close enough to 95747 or comfortable with the shipping portion then please private message me or email me at elon@ezeescrossovers.com

I've never been great at taking or keeping photos of projects but woodworking is my first love. I was making dressers and kitchen cabinets before I ever built a speaker. These photos are 2 recent projects.  The speaker cabinets finished last week.  The veneer is white oak. Photo is raw before a clear finish that adds some tasteful shine.  Painted front baffle is actually more work than veneer.  The 11.5 foot long built-in wall unit was finished a few months back.
