Panels and replacement parts for SST2 electronics
« on: 29 May 2021, 01:16 am »
Hi all and hi James,

I'm looking for some replacement parts for my PMC branded SST2 electronics. In specific, the plastic on the speaker output terminals has started cracking, as well as the rubber feet. I know you'd probably recommend I should send them off to the factory to have that fixed, but I'm a competent EE and I don't feel like going through the hassle honestly :green: Just the customs work would cost more than I'd be saving never mind the shipping. I assume you guys used standard parts I could buy with suppliers such as Mouser or Digikey - would it be OK if you shared which manufacturer numbers to get, or at least the brands so I could look them up myself?

Also, I'm looking to get front panels. My electronics have the non-rack-mountable versions of the panels, PMC branded. I'd like to mount them in a rack sometime during the next few years, but not quite now. Can I get the rack mountable ones from you at Bryston or a business more local to mainland Europe? I'd most like to get them in the PMC branding again.

Thanks and best regards

BTW I think the cracking on both the terminals and the feet has been caused as the previous location these electronics were has been subject to a lot of sunlight, which will easily damage plastics. I don't think it's inherent. The units are from 2009.

Hi Cheater

Email Mike Pickett and he can help with the parts.  mpickett@bryston.com
PMC would have to be the ones to order the faceplates for you as we build their units specifically for them.

Thanks a lot. If they said it's fine, would you sell it to me directly? I'd ask them in that case. Do you have any suggestions who I could talk to over there?

Thanks.
