Archiving to Digital
« on: 20 May 2021, 02:38 pm »
Hello, all. I have my vinyl and I have my digital, and I don't have any desire to convert my vinyl to digital as a primary playback medium. However, I would like to have good, high-fidelity digital "transcriptions" of much of my vinyl library.
I don't want to buy a TT with a USB output, but I can't find an analog-to-digital converter that I have confidence in (I'm not sure why the Schiit Jil went out of production...most reviewers gave it high marks).
I assume the answer is to pick up a second phono preamp with a digital output and use it just when I'm copying a record. Can any of you make a recommendation? Thanks!

I went with a NAD PP4 phono preamp with USB out. My amp is a NAD M32 and my digital source/server is a NAD M50.2, so hey, why not...? I will only use it for ripping vinyl to digital, not as a phono preamp.
