New Flatlander

Hi,

New to AudioCircle thanks to a member who mentioned it over at another site dealing with computers and audio.

After many, many years of what I thought was audio bliss (well, it was usually with vinyl, less so with digital), I stumbled upon some USB doohickies that transformed my humble office system. That led to tweaking my main rig and then (how fortunate!) really putting a file-streaming system together.

Now, unfortunately, I can really hear differences in annoying things like cables. So I go back to vinyl to get sane again! Just kidding.

Anyway, looking forward to discovering and sharing new tweaks that are more about spending money than rearranging my listening room.

Cheers,
Larry

Thanks, fellas!

Still need to figure out how things "circulate" 'round here.

Briefly, my main system is Naim-based (olive) with an LP-12/Ittok (what else?), and the microRendu delivering the bits like never before thru PSB speakers. As a result, recent tweaks have mainly been on the networking side.

Hi,

Long time audiophile but I've only taken things seriously recently in the last five years. Why? USB decrapification opened my eyes, or ears, rather. Since then, I've discovered just how much my system can resolve, and how much my room matters. The room matters more, but that's not as much fun as buying new gear and there is WAF (or better to say SO-AF?) to contend with. Anyway, household approvals aside, I'm settled on my system although I may do a wholesale shift this year just for fun.

Current setup includes PS Audio P3, older Naim, Schiit Yggy, Denafrips Ares II, LP12/Ittok/Hercules/DL-103, Monitor Audio Silver 500 speakers on IsoAcoustics Gaia feet, and tweaks and room treatments too numerous to get into. What is less obvious here is power, IMO. Quality power is the most important fundamental, to my ears.

I visited a few years ago but then life got busy. Now it's a little less crazy, so time to see what there is to learn anew.

Best,
Larry
