... I’m NOT a man of wealth and taste.

   But I know who to steal a good line from!

  Seriously now, my name is Marc but I’m going to use Tin Ears for my username. Why, you might ask?  Because A) I love a good joke, B) much of my humor is self deprecating and C) I often live with tinnitus. 

I live near San Francisco, on its peninsula and feel lucky to be here.  I love small venue live music, Formula 1 Gran Pride racing and strumming my acoustic guitar wishing I could REALLY play.

I hope to learn more about this hobby, which affordable current gear is worth a listen and maybe eventually even meet a fellow audiophile in person.

It's never been a better time to get into audio if you can handle streaming (access to millions of CD quality albums for $20/month or less) and can wrap your head around the advantages of active monitors (good quality starting at $300/pair).
