Odyssey dealers, which njoe tjoeb ?
« on: 28 Mar 2005, 01:55 pm »
Hi everyone,

This question is more for the odyssey dealers (but everyone can answer too of course). I've read that many of you  use the njoe tjoeb cd players for the demo. Which configuration of the player do you use ? upsampler or not, which options, and which tubes ?

Thanks for any information,
Christophe

In Hong Kong, we use Ayre CX7 and Benchmark DAC1 as source.

Definitely with the upsampler.  I just added it after having the Ah! for two years and the difference is substantial. 8)

As Eduardo wrote I use a Njoe Tjoeb.

I use the standard version - only change being, that the tubes has been changed from stock to Sovtek.

I think that it is a good CD-player, but you really need to change the stock tubes as the sound of these is not very refined. I can recommend the Sovtek.

I do not know how the bigger models sound. I really like the standard version. Off course it is not perfect, but at the prise it is very good indeed.
