Hi everyone. I'm Jaxboy, out of Jacksonville, FLA. I love music and tinkering. Being a former FB-111E and F-15 electronics mechanic, I have loud tinnitus at the mid 6kHz level, and hearing only to the mid 7kHz level. The reduced hearing level is a blessing of sorts, as I don't have to worry about buying tweeters! I spent a lot of my USAF career in Europe, so got a lot of high quality audio equipment at wholesale prices. My best setup was a Revox A77 tape deck, a Nagra type IV tape deck, a Thorens turntable, a custom-built (by me) Dynaco pre-amp and 80 watt amp, and 2 pair of Bose 901s. I know, Bose, but until you have heard 36 speakers playing 19 Hz at "turn-that-%^&$-thing-down" levels, don't knock it. I have a degree in computer technology and a master's in human relations. My current setup is minimal, as I have to keep my sound level at moderate levels. I am running a Tpa3116D2 amp, software equalization and 3 foam-core speaker types, Nautaloss I, XKi, and Xrk971's curved cabinet DCR, all of which I really enjoy their sound quality. I am interested in exploring the flat panel speaker using exciters as a center channel, which is what brought me to Audio Circle. Over on diyAudio, Audio Circle is considered THE place to go for that subject.
