 I'm new to the forum and i have questions on acoustic panel.

 I see acoutic foam from foambymail.com  with reasonable prices. So i'm planning to install  6 pannel (2'x4'). However, i don't want to stick these foams on the wall . Instead, i want to mount  8 of 12"x12" on the some sort backing board or wood to create 2'x4' panel, then hang this on the wall with a hook or somthing. Does this will affect the efficiency of the acoustic ?
 I know that fiberglass is better, but i am not handy in wood making , so  i want something available to use. I can get a good deal on Ebay for this as well.

I would expect something like foamcore would work well for this.  It should be available in any hobby or art supply in 24"x36" sheets.  You could use something like 1/8" or 1/4" hardboard or plywood instead.  I don't know what would be best acoustically.
