Hagerman Audio Trumpet Phonostage

Hi Guys,

I just ordered Jim's fairly new Trumpet Phonostage. Wish me luck... :)

Any knowledge of this new phono stage?

I've had a cornet phono stage before and I know the quality of Hagerman Audio products.

I've had mine for about 2 weeks.  So far, I'm pleased.  I'm still getting used to it, but so far very balanced and musical.  Instruments rich, detail good, but not intense. Jim sold me mine without tubes, so I'm running RCA clear tops in the 12au7 and Mullards in the 12ax7 spots.  If yours are new Russians, I'd bet you'll get somewhat different results.  Every time I roll tubes, I always find things to be a trade off.  Still looking for the "perfect" tube.

Hi Guys,

The trumpet phono stage has shipped from Hawaii.  I have no idea how long it will take to arrive in Western Australia. I'm sure it will sound pretty good.

Hey S Clark,

Just a question do you know to use the load and gain options on the trumpet mc phono stage? it just says to rotate  the load clockwise and the gain as low as possible.

First impressions are pretty good.

Best of luck. I have the original 8 tubed tower model. The damn thing will only fit on the top shelf. Ha ha, but the new one is sure pretty and I bet sounds similar. You're going to love it.

I've messed around with loading a bit.  But I told Jim what cartridges would be in use, and I've used his recommended setting.
