This portable headphone/USB DAC is excellent and does a great job when using it with a laptop or desktop for listening headphones, equally well with a smart phone. However, I haven't use it with a phone.
I have compare it with a Chord Mojo, very comparable except that the Mojo has a bit more power. But the ADL X1 DAC performed great in my setup.
