Completed the cabinets this week and I'm currently debating the paint choices. BTW, These were assembled from the flat packs that Jay( Captain Hemo) provided. I can't say enough about the precision of his workmanship. Highly recommended on all fronts. Also finished the the provided grill frames with grill cloth material from SpeakerWorks. Once the paint project is complete, I'll just be waiting for the remainder of the kit to ship. One quick question though, what's the ideal dimension for the xover mounting board? I have some 3" wide stock in my scrap pile, but maybe that's too narrow. Thx for any input.

Yeah, it really depends on your kit, & if you chose to go all copper caps & foil Inductors, or the more standard route, the former of which requires very tightly fit layouts, esp with how large some of the copper caps are.. (Think soda can size)

A more standard kit should easily fit onto a roughly 9"×6" board, same as the ones on the X-LS kits.

Thx. I'll more likely opt for Danny's standard kit. That said, I believe it now contains one copper cap. Just going to be a matter of sizing the board when the kit arrives at this point.

Correct, its just the copper bypass cap as part of the standard kit on the tweeter circuit.

My setup will be a hybrid of sorts, using the standard Sonicap & Copper bypass caps, but also using Path Audio resistors & foil inductors, as others have recommended in a few other threads. It's not necessary, but I'm down for pushing them to another level..

But that's the fun thing about DIY,  you can take it as far & wide as you're comfortable with.

Yes, bought black speaker cloth from SpeakerWorks. Frames have been painted and speaker cloth installed. That part is done.
