NX-Otica: Connecting wire to driver leads
« on: 4 Jul 2020, 06:33 am »
I am getting ready to assemble my NX-Otica’s, and have a question.  What is the best way to secure the wiring to the driver leads, prior to solder, and maintain a thorough enough connection?

I notice that the driver leads are a bit small, and the wiring is a not very flexible.  Trying to wrap The wire fully around the lead is a bit difficult.  I am open to suggestions.

You don't want to wrap the wire around the leads. Strip the wire so that it is as long as the lead you are soldering to. Tin the terminal and wire with solder before soldering the wire to the lead. After both parts are tinned, solder the tinned wire to the lead

Danny has a video on his YouTube channel showing how to do this. It's part of the Kliptch RP600M upgrade series. If you watch this, it will all be clear.

I use a hemostat to hold larger wire to the terminal.  With smaller wire that I am able
to wrap around the terminal as a heatsink to protect the terminal.
