Hello. I'm 70 years old, live in San Diego, and have been an active audiophile (again) for about seven years now. My current system consists of the following:

  • VTL IT-85 integrated amp
Rogue Ares phono pre-amp with Magnum upgrade and Telefunken NOS tubes
Rega RP-3 turntable with many tweaks
    exaSound Sigma streamer
    exaSound e32 Mk II DAC
    Vandersteen Treo CT speakers

I use Roon with Tidal, and have a coupla hundred each CDs and LPs.

And I clearly need to learn how to use the bullet list tool on this site. I've also been a member at Audiogon.com and AudiophileStyle.com for some years. It was actually computer-based music playback that led me down the primrose path to vacuum-tube gear. Also one peculiar site that caught my attention in an odd way:

Welcome!

And thanks for the link to the Altmann site, was thinking of them the other day and couldn't remember their name.  Are they still in business?  The core technology, while not well explained, seems well out of date and as quirky as ever.  10 wpc/8 ohms and SPDIF are quite limiting.  Plus the prices I could find seem out of line for what you're getting.  20 some years ago was trying to warm up to tiny amps but couldn't find efficient speakers that suited me.
