Does anyone know how to play DSF files through the BDP-3?

I had a similar issue with my BDP-2/BDA-3..
No more. Here's what I did:
1. Power down both.
2. Disconnect USB cable from BDA-3.
3. Reconnect cable to BDA-3 (power still off).
4. Power up BDA-3. Then BDP-3. USB light should turn green after a few seconds. The two should lock (recognize each other).
5. To be sure, I went to that window above. Ticked that box for DSD enable on BDA3, AND the box for BDP-2 IAD/BUC board.
6. Don't forget to click APPLY.

Hope this helps for your BDP-3 as well.

p.s. make sure you are doing this on a USB cable, not AES or SPDIF.

I got it working by re-ripping in two channel as opposed to multi-channel. I guess the only way to get this to play 5.1 is to convert he multichannel file to PCM. Has anyone ever done this. I am more interested in multichannel as opposed to stereo SACD.

Don't you lose the mutichannel by converting?

Good question. I assume that since my Sony XA-5400 plays multichannel through its HDMI outputs by converting DSD to PCM that if its already in PCM the Bryston SP3 will play it through any inputs that will play 176/24 PCM which are all of its AES, coaxial, and optical inputs.
