FS: Allnic L-1500 Preamp in black

Price: $2900

WHILE THIS IS STILL FOR SALE, I AM IN THE PROCESS OF ORDERING A NEW ATTENUATOR AND MAKING ARRANGEMENTS FOR IT TO BE INSTALLED. AND I DO NOT MEAN TO USE ALL CAPITAL LETTERS LIKE I AM SHOUTING BUT RATHER TO GET THE ATTENTION OF ANYONE READING THIS THAT THE ATTENUATOR "ISSUE" WILL SOON BE REMEDIED (not that it was really all that bad but some have expressed a concern over it so hence it will be replaced). AS I DO NOT WANT TO "TRASH" THE AD AGAINST THE ADVICE OF THE AUDIO CIRCLE MODERATORS, THE PREAMP WILL CONTINUE TO BE LISTED WHILE UNDERGOING REPAIR. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE!

Up for sale is my Allnic L-1500 tubed preamp in black. These preamps (to use a cliche`) truly are a rare item seen for sale. This preamp differs than so many other preamps on the market in that this preamp is not capacitor coupled but rather transformer coupled. The impedances on this preamp are therefore low and can be used with a myriad of amps.

This preamp has brand new tubes that were installed less than six months ago and I secured those tubes from an Allnic dealer. The tubes installed are the premium Mullard type.

I have rated this preamp as a "7" mostly due to age. My preamp has been sitting for several months now and it is time to sell it. There are a few details I wish to point out so as to be transparent in my ad and dealings with anyone who wishes to purchase this. First, there is some wear on the lettering on the back of the preamp. I have never had any piece of audio equipment in the 26 years I have been in this hobby where the lettering has worn off for no apparent reason but this is that one. The wearing does not impede any use issues with the preamp but I do want to point it out. Secondly, one small screw in the remote stripped so there are only two screws holding the back of the remote in place. Again, it does not affect the use of the remote in anyway and one would not even notice this if it were not pointed out. Lastly, there is an intermittent "pop" when using the remote to rapidly drop the volume and this "pop" does not appear until one is at the 8 o'clock position on the volume control or lower. The "pop" is not always present but frankly, for me, I do not ever use the volume in that range and if I need to quiet the preamp I simply use the "mute" feature. Again, this is a very minor issue but I do wish to be transparent in all of my sales / transactions so I want to make sure those three things are mentioned. Otherwise this preamp performs marvelously and sounds magnificent. As to the reason for the sale, as I said, this one has been sitting on my shelf for some time and I wish to upgrade my bicycle and since COVID has decimated the availability of bicycles in shops in the area, I need to put a tidy sum down on the 2021 bikes even before they are made / shipped so the proceeds from this sale will go towards a new means of pedaling and burning off some excess weight gained during the "plague".

Shipping will be via FedEx. A signature will be required upon delivery. Porch pirates seem to be more prevalent than ever too with so many people ordering now so the signature is a safeguard for both seller and buyer. Thanks in advance. Buyer and I will split PP fees. The preamp will also be double boxed for shipping. Shipping will be to the continental USA.

The remote is obviously included. The standard supplied power cord will also be provided but this preamp deserves a very good aftermarket power cord. I have been using a Black Sands Violet II with this preamp with very good results. I do not have the Allnic tube puller for this as the previous owner did not supply one. This is not a deal breaker as all the Allnic dealers I contacted looking for a tube puller told me that there are several safe ways to remove the tubes when needed (and tubes should last at least 5000 hours per dealers). The internet has plenty of suggestions as to how to safely remove the tubes. If you are a tube user and this sounds odd to you, it is because Allnic used a "gel" type dampener on their tube sockets and the old act of pulling / wiggling the tube(s) old by hand will damage the tube socket. FYI...

Please let me know if you have any questions. Please check my feedback on US Audio Mart and on Audiogon under the monicker "zkidd" (same as here) and buy with confidence.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Thank you but I guess it will need to have the attenuator replaced to make it more "sellable"...
