Hello audiocircle a introduction first post
« on: 7 Jan 2020, 05:58 pm »
Hello audio circle I have been audiophile for close to fifty years. I have been lurking around for a long time so I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Marc I have both analog and digital in my system . The digital is Mac mini based now using a audioquest dragon ( cobalt ) DAC . I was using a ultrafi music stream DAC but it just died so I picked up the cobalt DAC to tide me over for now . The analog system start with a Basis 2001 turntable with a Graham 2.2 arm with a Benz Ruby ( needs rebuild ) and a couple of Dynavector cartridges a XX2 Mk 2 and 17D Mk2. This feeds a Aesthetix Rhea phono amp to a Warpspeed LDR volume control the power amp is a NAT SE2SE2 with 211 tubes. The speakers are North Creek Manifest and a pair of North Creek Thunder subwoofers. Cables are all Ridge Street audio on the analog side and a mix on the digital side ( Cardas ,Audioquest ) . I have about 1600 records a mix of classical , rock , folk and country same mix on the digital side. I am also in a local group of audiophiles .  I just lost a channel on the aesthetix trying to save some money to get it repaired I am retired so money is tight . Yes my DAC and the Rhea died at about the same time bad luck so I picked up the cobalt so I can have some music it's not to bad at least I have music . My music room is in the basement I built myself and is about 16 feet by 25 feet nice size with some bass traps . I think it sounds good dedicated AC power lines for clean AC .I also have a pair of Acoustat 1+1 speakers for a change they are fun . I had a pair of Acoustat 2+2 wish I still had them along with many pieces of eq. I wish I still had but I was young and foolish and sold things I should of kept for life .Oh well that's my story live and learn

Welcome to Audio Circle!

I use to have Acoustats and I too wish I had kept them. At least you've got a nice big room.  :D
