Dear all at AudioCircle,

I am new here.
A little introduction:

I have a background in Pro and Consumer audio repair.
Around 1983 I helped wiring up a recording studio in Amsterdam , it was a Tom Hidley design.
A lot of soldering involved, monitors were Kinoshita`s with a FM acoustic 600 amp.
It has been my benchmark for audio reproduction even since.
I have a active interest in audio and HiFI from age 12 on.

My question is whether anyone knows the difference between the older ICE POWER 1200AS and the supposedly new one?

Best regards and Happy New Year to All!

Jyotesh,

Welcome to AudioCircle!

The "AS" designation is the newest and latest ICE model, aka ICEedge. 1200AS is a single channel amp on one board and 1200AS2 is two channels on one board. The maximum power is 600wpc. Both have onboard power supply. I use the stereo amp with very good results. It's the most detailed amp I've heard and also has a very relaxed and musical feel. Incredible value for money.

Happy 2020!

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.
Welcome :thumb:
Do you came to listen that FM Acoustics amp?
How was the sound?

My interest in HiFi also began at the age of 12.  :D

Happy New Year and welcome to the AC!

Welcome!  I have one amp with the stereo module and a modded one with two mono modules.  Excellent value for the money.  I believe the module was several years in development.
