I was an EE in an earlier life. Summers at school I worked in a mil-spec soldering shop. Did some development work as an EE, including building prototypes. Unfortunately when I went to school it was discrete components, with no tubes or transformers. Would have enjoyed that education.
I actually enjoy the details, which I think are the most important part of a rebuild project. The Futterman has an interesting, old style power supply configuration. Point-to-point wiring makes life a lot easier with regards to replacing components and fully rebuilding something - old circuit boards get lifted traces unless you are very careful and even more lucky.
Likely lots more time will be invested than will ever be returned in $, but I am retired and my time is available to use as I enjoy. Not a bad thing.
I think the hardest part is going to be finding the starting point Futterman amp......
