A Small JJAZ FOD Tale

Hiya,all:
I've had a set of JJAZ FOD's for a while and was using a pair of unseperated discs under a modded Tosh 3960, where they were a big improvement over cones, DIYumas, MIRollers, etc. For the last few days, I've been auditioning a CD-Pro2M in my system. On a whim, I stuck three FOD's (it's heavy) under the CD-Pro (which comes with cones). Yikes! They totally transformed the performance: dynamics are way better, more detail in spades, attacks like POW yet with a better tonal balance. No downside. I'm gobstruck. I'm running this CDP on the analog outs (!) into a modded T-Amp, or through a modded Panny XR50 digitally, driving Lowther ML TL's. I never knew Redbook could get this good. The improvement from the JJAZ FOD's astounded me. I suppose it depends on the quality of the source equipment. I need some more.
I've already ordered a CD-Pro2M kit, which I'll get on Monday or Tuesday. One of the first tweaks I'll do is replace the stock suspension of the CD-Pro2M module with FOD's (the stock suspensions are neoprene and springs - ugh). I've never heard an isolation device improve performance so radically.

Regards,
Larry Welsh

Glad you like the FFOD!  I didn't have huge expectations for mine but heard and immediate improvement when I put them under my DAC.  Glad to hear they stack up well against all the other isolation devices you have tried.  I may need to get 1-2 more sets.

I have also been very happy with these, after installing them under my Hagerman Clarinet preamp.  I found them a little funny to play with, in that they were hard to get apart without committing to using them with the sticky stuff attached.

But, once in place, they are doing a great job, bringing the life back into the music for me.

A very good investment, for next to nothing!

Thanks for distributing these Wayne!
