SACD 1000 = BOAT ANCHOR

I am about to throw my SACD 1000 into the dumpster, nobdy wants to fix or has the parts to fix it.  It seems a shame.  Any suggestions or should I just go ahead and toss it.

Does Alex P still fix those?  If not, you could probably still sell it for something on Audiogon.  I would imagine a broken one would still fetch a couple bucks.  I had one for a while but chickened out when I read about all of the ones going belly-up.  Sold it after about a week for what I paid ($450 at Tweeter).  Looking back, it was one of the best decisions I have ever made.  Is yours modded?  How long is the warrantee?  Maybe Philips can help you out.  Squeeky wheel gets the grease!  I'd give that a shot.

Hi littlelabs,

I suppose Alex may be your best bet.  I'm not sure if he's currently accepting the SACD1000's in for repair or not.

hope it works out for ya  :|

Unless it's one of Alex's units he modified you are out of luck. He is no longer doing any mods or repairs to them because of lack of parts. He is keeping all the spare parts he has for customers that have bought his moded SACD 1000. Damn shame too because what you get from Alex is an outstanding CD player. I've had mine for about a year and haven't had any problems. And it sure does sound good!!
