This was originally a HS-251 that had a motherboard failure. Qnap sold me the upgraded 251+ board as the chassis are exactly the same. It is about 4 months old with the new board installed and works perfectly. You can easily verify it is an authentic 251+ as the serial number was updated at Qnap at the time of purchase. It also shows up on the Qfinder as 251+. This is the one with 2g ram onboard, most available for this model.
I used it as a UPNP Server with SSD's and always got excellent sound from this unit. They are made very well and consume so little power, especially if using SSD's. This low power consumption is one of the key factors for its excellent sound (low consumption, low noise). Music served from it gives a super black background. It will run ROON also, believe it or not. It does tax the ram a bit, but never peaks and never left me waiting. It of course will not do any of the upsampling features in ROON, but if used for bit perfect playback only, it runs great, and sounds amazing!
Comes with original box, packing, power supply. No storage drives, you'll have to get those. It is in perfect shape.
