Hi mgsboedmisodpc2 & etcarroll,

There's a tiny e at the end of serial number, hence I believe these are 2CE ?

The room is  15" wide x36" long

Thanks

So, macattack963 you have the tweeter and midrange levels set at zero. You might want to reduce the treble level down maximum cut to -3 listen and the adjust accordingly to what you like best.

Thank mgsboed, will experiment this weekend with tweeter gain.

Now that these are confirmed 2ce, will it be possible to upgrade speaker internal components, would like these to be the best they can be.

Also I would welcome suggestions on amps that makes these speakers shine

Macattack963 only model 3 model 5 and model 7 and certain treos and quattros can be upgraded. but all speakers can be sent back to the factory to be refreshed which may mean an upgrade.

Thanks Mgsboed, I’ll contact vandersteen re refresh. How do you like your 3A. My 2ces were a steal at $400, but amazingly bad value for money as they’ve sucked me into the audiophile world. Just finished reading Richard hardesty’s articles- how amazingly informative, I always wondered how to read those graphs in music equip review magazines.

Well what are your music tastes and how loud do you listen.  THe reviewer, did he use music similar to what you listen to?
