This is a one of a kind balanced in/out, passive & active line preamp with remote volume. Cinemag CMMI-15C transformers for balanced inputs. Balanced & active unbalanced outputs driven by abundantly-power-supplied Analog Devices SSM2142 balanced line driver IC's. All wired with combo of pure silver & silverplated wire. Volume by motorised Alps RK27 "blue velvet" potentiometer. Silver-contact Alco toggle switches.
Steven Sank designed and built this piece and is a well known technician and designer of ribbon microphones as well as solid state and tube audio components.
Working remote is included, though it is a bit funky looking.
Sound is very very clean and fast and sounds wonderful with tubes or solid state amps.
