Nord One SE NC500 MKII

Has anybody purchased one of these newer amps from Nord with the rev D input buffer and care to share their opinions on it compared to the rev C or other class d amps?

I had some rev C monoblocks a few years back and really liked them but currently have a IceEdge 1200as that I like even more so curious to see how the rev D has changed things.

The only person I know that has owned the Rev C, Rev D and even the Nord 1200AS is Marty over as AS.  There are couple of others that have ordered the Rev D boards but don't know if they have received them yet.

Yeah I saw that but then it got kinda quiet. Thought maybe some around here might have made the move to rev D but I’m remembering now the new Sonic Imagery op amps were on back order until this past week so there’s probably why it’s been limited to any feedback.

Thanks for the links. Heard from someone who has both the nc500 with rev D and 1200as and much prefers the 1200as at the moment.

Jury is still out for me on the REV D boards. It is going to be hard to get me to switch from the Nord 1200as amps.

Please indulge me: what distinguishes the two amps?

The amp modules themselves are from two different companies.

Similar concept different execution with different sound profile to most people. The NCore 500 design allows for the utilization of OEM designed input buffer boards like the different ones Nuprime uses with different amp models in place of the factory supplied one.  The IcePower 1200AS module for now only allows for the utilization of their own buffer board.  Whether that changes in time is yet to be seen.

The input stage.  Jason's engineers used different flavored ones for the different amps so they have slightly different voicing.
