Hello,

Have a pair of these that are cosmetically imperfect (some small scratches that are hard to see against the black finish, and the Paradigm logo is missing on one speaker) and functionally INCREDIBLE.

These sound incredible. Due to the nature of active speakers, these have incredibly dynamics, macro and micro both. Amazing resolution. And a killer soundstage. They have a switch to roll-off at 80 Hz., which enhances macro-dynamics as it relieves the (very capable) woofers from low bass, which helps everything.

These are really great. Selling them only as they're too big for my room - I'm using a much smaller pair of NHT 1.5 bookshelf speakers that can't compare sonically (though they're pleasant), but are about half the size. (Attached pictures aren't mine but are representative since they're the same speaker model.) Not shipping as these are large and heavy, sorry! Local pickup in Los Angeles only. (I sometimes travel to San Francisco so that could possibly work as well.)

One caveat, the auto-on seems to not work - I haven't seen them turn off when on auto-on even after an hour. Speakers amplifiers have excellent relays, and so these can be wired to a power switch externally without thumps. Or you can just turn them on when you need them.

Paradigm Active 450LR (these exact model) used as a part of a $90k demo room:

User reviews (very few, unfortunately) of the 450LR v2

Here are professional reviews for the Active 20 (v1), which is a 2 way design with the same woofer/tweeter, albeit with one less woofer:

Professional Review for the Active 40 (v1), a similar speaker though a 2.5 way not a 2 way

user reviews for the Active/40:

Professional review for the Studio/20, which is the same drive units with one less woofer. Review mentions and contrasts differences between Studio/20 and the active Active/20 version, and so is relevant:

some sparse specs:
50/125 watt amplifier RMS/peak for the tweeter
125/250 watt amplifier RMS/peak for the pair of woofers
selectable RCA/XLR input for single-ended/balanced
defeatable 80 Hz. high-pass for use with a subwoofer

Best,
Tal

Hello,

Are these still available for a listen and possible purchase?

JakeJ

If you change your mind and decide you can ship (to Washington state 99336) let me know.  My HT is all active; Paradigm Active 40 V2 fronts, Active 20 V1 rears, A2 sides.  The A2's can't keep up with the others and I'd like to remedy that.

Thanks,
JakeJ

Jake,

Will let you know if the [local] sale to Ced just above falls through. I imagine it won't though, as both of us know how good they sound!

Will respond here either way.

Happy new year!
