I ended up making my own transformer-based balanced to single-ended converter, so I no longer use this excellent Jensen unit. Not because I noticed a difference in sound, but because we are proud of what we make.
Many have used this unit and attested to its positive effect on their system. If a source has balanced outputs, you want to use them.
This both allows you to get the benefits of the balanced output of a source into your single-ended inputs and removes noise. I can include some high quality, very short, fairly stiff, very low capacitance RCA cables for the output connection. They are an extreme reaction to what Jensen describes as the absolute ideal way to avoid any noise getting into the signal once it's converted to single-ended.
