Hi before I make the pludge for a Samsung HD841 DVD/Universal player..., Will the Tweaks done by TweakAudio, or other companies help with not only SACD playback, but also standard CD playback?  To be honest if it really came down to it, I would rather have a good sounding CD player right now, then a SACD player.  However if a Tweaked Samsung HD841 will sound great with both SACD and standard CD play. its the one for me!

One last thing...  do the mods help with picture quality of the DVD?  Or are all mods purely for sound?  And with this said, do the sounds of movies sound better as well?  Thanks!

The reviews I've read of the Samsung over at Audioreview aren't very flattering. I have the Sony Dvp-NS975V, which got poor reviews as well. But I haven't encoutered the problems mentioned with mine.
  For audio this Sony is a significant improvement over my previous dvd player and even mp3's sound detailed.  Does not play DVD-Audio but it plays  DTS, which I don't think the Samsung does. Video is excellant as well.
  Unless you go with another brand, you will be taking a chance buying either of these. But if you luck out and get a good Sony without encounting problems then I assure you won't regret buying the Sony.
