M&K gets pigeon holed as "home theater" or STUDIO speakers when in fact they are perfectly at home playing 2 channel Audio and in some cases far better than uber pricey bookshelf models. Yes, they are designed to be used as a LIMITED frequency satellite ( set to 80hz ) and paired with a powered sub. - so they are a modular speaker system . They pair well with various subs including those manufactured by M&K.
