Can a Clearaudio MC cartridge be repaired, I have a broken stylus?

Cal first to discuss, then send it to Soundsmith.  They have 3 grades of stylus and cantilever replacement--I believe they are still $150, $250, and $350.  I've had 3 different cartridges with one of the best 2 grades done.  They come back with even better sound than when they were new.  I believe the $150 job is an equal to most original cartridges.  You will have to ask them how much time it will take as it depends on how many got there before yours.

I've had good luck with Soundsmith but it did take a number of months to sort out my problem.  I've also had good service from Andy at http://phonocartridgeretipping.com   He offers two levels of re-tipping.  If you're nervous about changing the sound (you shouldn't be) you can also contact a Clearaudio dealer and see what refurbishing or trade up offers they have.

Welcome to AudioCircle and I hope we've helped answer your question.

Like have been said already most cartridges can be re-built / re-tipped, but they come back sounding different. Like have been said contact Clearaudio about a trade in against a new one, trade in will not be as cheap as a re-build / re-tip from a 3rd party but at least you know the sound you are going to get.

My last cartridge gives me £500 off a new one when I trade in the broken one or used one of the same cartridge.
