NP. Curious about those amps—there are a lot of them on the used market—when working are they comparable to Latino’s VTA ST120 or Rouge’s Magnum Atlas?
If you find a late edition SE-40 Special Edition, or as the OP has requested, one with the Sonic Craft mods, then they are reliable. If you buy an early version without the upgrades, they are highly unreliable. Golden Ear used many parts which were inferior / underspec'ed. A friend of mine ran a Stereo shop and raved about these when they first came out. But he had an 80%+ failure rate and dropped the line.
Also note that they don't meet manufactuer's claims. They are sold as a 40wpc amp, but in reality are more like a 20wpc amp. They can hit 25 watts mid-band, but fall off to below 15 at lower frequencies.
