Used on and off, these were my backup speakers, and my toe dip into more expensive active speakers.  Recently moved on to bigger, better, and much more expensive active monitors so no longer needed.  The advantages of active design (with DSP) are significant: dynamic, really flat frequency response, full/deep bass, crossover is phase corrected, amps are matched to the driver by the designer and better integrated with each of the drivers, no power amp(s) to buy.

These are in pristine condition, come with original boxes/packing, stands never came out of the boxes.  Designed for desktop use, they were only used on stands in a mid-field setup.  Accurate yet musical, huge sound, non-fatiguing, and quite 'friendly' of poor recordings.  RCA and XLR inputs, just plug into your preamp.  Rated 42-24,000 Hz and up to 118 dB (never had them that high!).  Found the controls to be useful.  Simulated oak texture (unusual for studio monitors).  Used them with and without a sub (not absolutely necessary for music) at nearly always moderate levels.  Front port means they are less sensitive to corner/wall placement.  These are the professional model up from AudioStream's top speaker pick, the $2000/pair Dynaudio Excite X14A (see link above).  Note that these are completely built in-house from Denmark.

PM if interested.

JBL 708P studio monitors, bought from jtwrace.

A 'no prisoners taken' monitor compared to the Dynaudio speakers.

(Review to come.)
