A friend ask me to run his Beatles MoFi set through my ultrasonic cleaner, and listen along the way.  Seemed to me that the mastering varied significantly from LP to LP.  Magical Mystery Tour was great, Abbey Road bass heavy to nearly muddy.  Anyone have this set?  Impressions?

I used to own it when I had a TT. Remember, that was '63 through '70 when technology changed a lot plus, this set was put out a long time ago (mid-80s?). Also, GMartin changed the recording style a lot between all those albums.

I had the MoFi Abbey Road and the bass was strong but not overdone or muddy in my system. I assume the mastering was the same for the one in the box set as the standalone version I had.
