I’m trying something different. Usually I spray automotive primer directly onto the mdf, this time I’m using a guitars finishing technique. I’m coating the mdf with zpoxy finishing resin mixed with silica. The first coat worked out perfectly. Just a couple of spots now to fill then I’ll bring them down to the shop and spray them.
I’m starting to like the way these speakers are looking, but they’ve fought me every step of the way. The last two pairs went so easily, these have just been mistake after mistake.. sometimes you just gotta walk away for a while.
A good friend of mine once said “building is a lesson in repair”.. man was he right.
