Hey Scott,

Welcome! I was in the same boat. I thought I could be ok just listening to music in my car and on a simple whole house setup. Not so much. This time around I think I did it right. There are lots of direct to consumer choices that make selecting gear a challenge but removes some of the hassles too.

Welcome to the sweet spot, good luck with your new system, take some pictures when you're done, and as always, post anytime you'd like some advice. I'd love to hear more about what you mean by 'more sanely'... Sounds like there's some backstory there (that we'd probably identify with).
