Switching the passive to active?

Wondering what effect this would have? Using the large sub as an example...would switching out the 15" passive for  15" active be a downgrade, upgrade or no difference at all?

Sorry, my mind wonders into all kinds of bass thoughts...one of those crazy thoughts here.

It would almost certainly be a major downgrade.   You must realize the passive radiator replaces a (long) vent and allows the box to be tuned to a particular frequency.  Drivers that are optimized for use in a PR or vented box will probably not perform well in a sealed enlosure. A pair of 15" VMPS active woofers would be majorly constipated in a sealed Larger box.

Love your Apogees by the way.  Brings back memories of my beloved Divas !
