Now living in West Yorkshire (UK), I grew up in California and then lived 17 years in Houston. My proper start in audiophilia was in the early 90's when I started visiting Hi-Fi shops in Houston, talking about music, and listening to various bits of gear, some in my price range and some way out there. After several home auditions and a few years I had a system I was fairly happy with, Theta front end, Classe amplification, and Von Schweikert VR4's. Moving to the UK ten years later, I knew my lounge would not likely be large enough to do the VR4's justice and switched out to Proac Response 1sc speakers. Sweet but a little thick and slow by comparison to the Von Schweikerts. It also took several years of efforts on power conditioning to get my mains to a state that could compare to my Houston setup, and then age started requiring some component substitutions.
I enjoy some jazz, classical, singer-songwriters, blues, and a smattering of world music and vintage pop.
