Hi Everybody,
I've read different circles on AudioCircle for years without introducing myself. I've been an audiophile for well over 20 years. Like many of you, I've gone through enough equipment to pay off a small house mortgage...not really but it seems that way sometimes. I have an electronics background and I like tube and solid-state equipment. The electronics background comes in handy if you like tube equipment. I just had to replace a couple of output tube resisters in one of my mono-blocks that failed because one of the output tubes lost vacuum while I was listening to it. The tube lit up like a 4th of July fountain inside before the input fuse blew. That is the first time anything like that has happened to me and I've had tube equipment for over 15 years. I checked the tube for shorts afterwards and there were no shorts but there was a 1/16 crack in the glass next to the base. Anyway, my passion for the last 2 or 3 years has been room acoustics and I firmly believe that understanding room acoustics is some of the most important knowledge an audiophile or home theater enthusiast can have. I guess that is enough rambling for an initial post. I look forward to future conversations on the various circles.
