Idle Thought
« on: 21 Nov 2018, 08:53 pm »
For several years, I've used this CD to quickly check the dynamic range and frequency response of my system - - especially the speakers and subwoofer.

Strauss: Also Sprach Zarathustra / Tod und Verklarung: Andre Previn and the VPO. Telarc 2006 remastering.

Coincidentally, Previn does a masterful job with both tone poems,  and the Vienna horns are superb (as usual!)

Hardly.  About 20 years too late.  That photo is a '51 painted up as a Red Tailed Devil of Tuskegee Airmen fame.  Shot it at OshKosh about 11 years ago.  Fortunate to meet one the Tuskegee veterans there!

Well, I spent 30 years in the US Air Force, flying several types of aircraft. Loved the '51, F-80 86, and B-47.  The Tuskeege Airmen were famous for not using any B-17s while they were flying cover.

Uh, LOSING any?   :o

I flew in a fully-restored B-17 awhile back.  The B-25 and B-29 are still on my bucket list for joy rides.

I flew the B-25 in training, and flew the B-50 for a couple of hundred hours, Never few the 29.  I was a fighter jock who was shanghaied into the Strategic Air Command. B-47s, RB-47s.
