I'm here to improve my 2 channel system. I'm mostly interested in bookshelf speakers and want to learn more about Legacy Audio, Proac, ATC and Spendor speakers.

To my knowledge I have not heard Proac.  The other 3 have different sound presentations.  I really like ATC, really lively open sound, my pick of the group.  Legacy and Spender are good too, it depends on your taste.  Another friend told me she is getting a set of Graham bookshelf, she said stellar midrange, picked them over Harbeth.

Keep in mind individual tastes vary and your ears have to decide what pleases them.

Welcome and enjoy the journey.

Many good monitors out there, but there is no perfect speaker.  Know your musical and sonic priorities, then audition.  Use a variety of material you're familiar with.  Listen at home if at all possible.  Speakers each have a set of characteristics, things they do well or not.  First pick the speaker to match your priorities and fit your room.  Then pick the amp that serves the speaker best within your budget.

Sounds like you appreciate clean sounding, fast, detailed speakers.
I also think the ATC's are amazing, heard at audio shows.
But, and you probably already know this, one of the biggest challenges to get "the right" sound,
is matching the right amp to the right speakers.

Speakers will only sound like the Sound Quality SQ that is being poured into them by the amp.
Fortunately, there are a lot of good amps out there to match well the speakers you ID'ed.
best of luck!
