SOLD!Let me be clear, I am only selling these because I bought a pair of Spatial Uniwave X1s. These speakers are extraordinary! I always loved panel speakers and have owned numerous pairs of Acoustats and Magnepans but something was missing. These speakers have it. Dynamics! They throw a huge stage in my room and are fast and clear and efficient. No need for mega-watt amps. Front to back depth and right to left width are beyond my room boundaries. I have upgraded the wire from the crossover to the drivers with DH Labs Silver Sonic T-14 to the woofers and VH Audio 18 gauge UniCrystal OCC copper hook up wire. Three strands of UniCrystal for each leg making 15 gauge. Nice improvement.
I have also built new crossovers on maple boards using very high quality parts which include: Jupiter HT Flat Stacked capacitors bypassed with a Duelund silver foil cap, Jantzen copper foil and wax coils, and Duelund CAST resistors. I designed the crossover to include a second coil for the full range driver. It cuts just a bit more of the upper mid and high range for those nasty cds that you love to listen to but the sound is so glaring that you just can't bare it. The two full range coils are easily interchangeable. The crossovers are designed so that the only contact is with bare wire. The connectors are used as clamps only. The values are what is specified by PureAudioProject. This change made a huge difference. The sound is so clean and clear with gorgeous vocals, you really have to hear it for yourself.
I am asking
$3800 $3500 for the speakers with the stock crossover. If you want the upgraded crossovers (including the stock ones) the price will be
$4800 $4500. I have well over $2400 into the
parts alone for the custom built crossovers.
Why is the price so low? I do not want to ship these. I am in Vermont and would prefer local pickup. However, I will consider driving half the distance to meet you anywhere in New England or Eastern New York. That means if you live in Boston MA or New Haven CT or New York City or Plattsburg NY etc., I will drive half the distance to meet.
