I have looked into it before but it seemed way complicated.   Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Not too complicated, you can download it for free under a trial and use it on any computer you have.

Or you can get a sonic transporter which is a fan-less, audio optimized computer with ROON and a special OS to run ROON.

Then if you have any DAC with a USB input just get a simple roon endpoint or even use a raspberry pie.  The sonic orbiter is roon ready and converts from Ethernet to USB or optical to make most other sources ROON ready.

Or just go from whatever computer you have, running ROON, directly connected by USB cable to the DAC.  There's a million DACs at different price ranges.  Even Blue sound powered speakers are ROON ready.

Plus ROON itself if a real pleasure to work with.
