Current Gen4/Level 4 owner  here.

I placed  an order for a  new Atlantic DAC with Gopher but had to place the order on hold due to some unforeseen circumstance. So until it gets resolved, I'll just have to wait.

In the meanwhile, it got me thinking. I have no plans now or the near future to embrace DSD so why do I want to pay for it? What % of the the DAC's cost is in its implementation? Why not an option instead? Am I the only person who feels this way?  Should I stop thinking and buy the freakin' dac?

DSD is integrated into the digital engine of the Atlantic. 

Don't look at it as paying extra for DSD, look at it as being thrown in for the same price. 

DSD and PCM are handled by the same engine unless you upgrade to also have the separate DSD512 engine.

Get it, don't think twice, does everything well and you'll be in heaven with how it does PCM.  That said, there's some good DSD out there to be had, why close yourself off to it?

Yes, you definitely won't want to miss out on DSD with a Lampizator DAC !
