Sealed box speakers provide tight bass and concentric mounted drivers provide the time alignment (imaging) that Vandersteen is famous for. The Music Direct website states:

I would say that these speakers are in fair condition. No deep gouges, one shallow inch-long scratch on the top, a bunch of scuffs and nicks, most of which I've cleaned up. They have decent cosmetic condition - nothing offensive or particularly eye catching. Also, one of the machine screws on the speaker connectors requires that you use a larger-head screwdriver, as the Phillips pattern has been distorted a bit (I bought them this way from the prior owner, and it has caused no problem, but they are simple machine screws and can be replaced at the hardware store). Anyhow - they are in decent condition and I'm offering them for 40% of retail!
