FS: VPI JMW-10 3D Tonearm Armwand--SOLD
« on: 6 Apr 2017, 11:29 pm »
I purchased this VPI 3D tonearm armwand in December 2016. It is the latest model with the metal finger lift. I used it very sparingly and have decided to go back to my metal VPI arm. This arm has special Reference Wire installed by Steve Leung of VPI.

The arm was used on my VPI Aries 1 table and will work on newer tables as well as older VPI tables that have less clearance at the JMW base.

Retail for this arm is $1,800. I’m asking $1,400. I will cover insured shipping, Paypal fees and Soundsmith Counter Intuitive if my asking price is met.

Will this work on my older 10.5i with (I believe) a 258mm pivot to spindle distance?

Thanks,

Paul

Paul,

It should if your older arm was a JMW. I believe the 10.5i arms are the same specs as the  10 3D arms. For some reason the .5 was dropped from the description. I can verify that with VPI if need be.

Here's the specs for the 3D arm from VPI's site:

VPI JMW 10 3D
Pivot to spindle: 258mm
 Effective length: 273.4mm
 Effective mass: 9g
 Overhang: 15.4mm
 Offset angle: 19.98 degrees
 Average RMS distortion: 0.311%

Thanks. From what I can tell, the arm is backwards compatible with my base.
