It was asked before (I think) but I am wondering has any member yet had a chance to compare the new BCD3 to the  BCD1 for overall  sonic performance.? :thumb: thanks in advance.

Do you own a -3? If not, any way you can audition a -3 to form impressions? Maybe not a head-to-head comparison, but still.....

Heard the BCD-3 today at Take 5 Audio in New Haven.  I have to say it is a wonderful player.  It is smooth; natural sounding; non-fatiguing; all the detail you need, and crisper piano key attacks than the Marantz I was listening to earlier, and the same improved dynamics from my great but getting old Copland.  I would say it's a real winner, especially for the price, but not only for the price.  Of course it's not SACD-compatible; it has none of the features of multi-format players, that's the rub.  Not for me, no problem, for probably for a lot of people.  I plan to get it, and I am super fussy.
