Preamble
One thing I love about Criterion - they do amazing restoration work to older movies, and they do 'lowbrow' movies almost as often as 'highbrow' ones.  Case in point, Lone Wolf and Cub - a 3 disc set with all 6 LW&C movies on it.  Warning, spoilers below.

These movies are fantastic - you can see where people like John Woo and Quinten Tarantino got their inspiration from.     



It might be 'lowbrow', but it's extremely well done.
