Flickering tubes with vinyl

When I play records at high volumes, the power tubes flicker sometimes at big hits in the music.  Is this due to high current draw at subsonic freqencies?  My amps are monos at 150 watts each with 4 KT88s each.  The speakers suck a lot of power from the amps too.   They are Hales Revelation Threes with 87 db eff. at 2.3 ohms.  I use autoformers to make them easier to drive.  The autoformers were a major improvement in response and staging, but they did not influence the tubes flickering with vinyl at high volumes.  CDs do not cause the flicker unless the volumes are dangerously high.

Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!

I bet they are experiencing the involuntary finger and toe tapping "jammin" effect that got me hooked on vinyl ;-) you might try some Hellen Ready Debbie Boone or Britney crap the tubes (if they have any taste won't jam to this drivel and the flickering should stop ;-)

I trhink you are experiencing " Tube Microphonics" if the sound isn't altered sit back and enjoy the show otherwise get some of the devices that fit over tubes to isolate them from microphonic effects.
