Have you considered looking for a butcher block and refinish it?

Check your local Craigslist for a woodworker.  It's not a difficult project, any shoukd be able to handle it right?

I actually have a really nice piece of Purpleheart that I used as a TT platform, until I got my Timbernation rack.

It is 25"W, 18"D and 2" Thick.  Nice and Flat.  Send me a message if you are interested.  $100+25SH with Paypal FF.
