For sale are a pair of GR/Rythmik 12" sealed subs in unfinished birch ply. They're identical, 3/4" ply for the sides, with internal bracing as per GR Research's designs. Front and rear panels are 1.5" ply, and with rounded bevels, which I think are an elegant look. No Rez throughout the interiors really helps with dampening cabinet vibrations.
These are servo subwoofers, with the same technology as Rythmik uses in their servo subs, but built with DIY instructions from GR Research. They are highly accurate given the servo technology, and in a medium-sized room will provide really satisfying bass, down to the low 20 hz range. As much as you could need. I purchased these around a year ago, and had to complete assembly of one of them. They were used for a few months in a medium-sized room very successfully, until I moved to my new house in April. However, in my new very large room (>5000 cu ft), they are just not enough output to fill the space. So, I've needed to move to 15" ported subs instead, which is the only reason for sale. These have been sitting in storage for the past 7 months or so.
I always thought I'd finish these in a nice stain, or paint, but I never decided on the finish before I needed to move on. You'll be able to finish them however you like, or just keep them in unfinished, which also has a certain appeal.
I also created two platforms that are the exact size of the footprint of each sub. Each has a layer of No Rez on the bottom. The purpose is to have a platform with strong decoupling from the floor. On my new house's plush carpet, I found it tightened up the sound a bit. It would also be a nice form of decoupling when placed on a tile/wood floor. I can include these in the package if you desire. I'll try to fit them into the packaging, but may need to ship them separate, though.
